A general Family Dental Practitioner, grew up in Hampstead, N.W. London, before qualifying in 1995 with B.D.S. from King’s College Hospital, London.

Before working in Dental General Practice, he held hospital posts in Maxillo-facial & Oral surgery and Children’s dentistry at his alma mater.

Alfie Chan continued with his post-graduate studies at The Eastman Dental Institute of University College London and was awarded his Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice in 2006 with Distinction. He then gained his Certificate in Surgical Implantology and Certificate in advanced Endodontics in the following year.

In 2014, He was awarded his Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman UCL-University of London.

He is also continuing further studies in Sports Dentistry, Management of Dental and Facial pain, Anti-snoring (Sleep Apnoea) devices and teeth straightening with Invisalign Go.

Alfie is working towards becoming part of Team GB in Tokyo 2020 athlete support personnel. He is an accredited UK Anti-doping advisor. He is also a certified ‘Clean’ Coach and has his FA football coach level 1 badge and developing AFC Newbury U10s team.
Alfie firmly believes in keeping up-to-date with the latest scientific evidence-based dentistry in order to offer the best treatment possible to his patients of all ages at Wash Common Dental and Implant Practice.

In line with bringing new technology into his dental practice, Alfie has the latest digital scanning “impressions’ equipment so no more trays with ‘gunk’ in the mouth is an option for some procedures.
Also, he is an accredited Plasma Rich Growth Factor clinician with BTI Endoret (PRGF) systems. This is harnessing your own blood’s healing plasma and converting it into a liquid or gel to aid rapid healing and greatly reduces swelling and pain post-operatively for all surgical procedures e.g. Dental Implants and tooth extractions. This is all carried in-house during your appointment.

Facial aesthetics treatments: Alfie is a fully IHAS registered Facial Aesthetics Practitioner. With the use of facial fillers (Hyaluronic gels) and botulinum toxin therapy, can dramatically reduce and soften deep facial lines and wrinkles.
